A Winter Blue Tablescape seems very appropriate around here these days.
Shades of blue and silver are icy and cool and that’s what it’s like outside. Although it’s still early in the season, many of us around here have the winter blues. We’re not at cabin fever stage just yet, but getting there.
The feel of this table is crisp and contemporary. Suitable for a casual lunch or an elegant dinner party. I used a full size flat navy blue bed sheet as the base and topped it with this white and blue fabric. No matter the temperature outside, using it on my table makes me smile. The oversized veined leaf print is showy and perfectly complements the blue and white dishes. Coupled together they have an Asian motif. The dishes were a thrift store find at .49 cents each and the fabric also came from the thrift store and cost less than $5.00.
I wrapped blue napkins around silver chargers for the base of the stack.
For depth, and so as not to interfere with the pattern on the blue and white plates I placed a white square plate underneath them to complete the stack.
To the left of the setting is a white bowl that sits atop a white salad plate.
A satiny finish and swirl pattern tie the flatware into the overall design of the table.
Then there is drinkware. A blue goblet, goblets with more of a crystal look and a small stemmed cordial.
On to the center of the table where I used a silver hobnail vase with white hydrangeas and silver glittered pick.
The mercury glass taper holders came from Hobby Lobby’s 80% off after Christmas sale. I was late to the sales but it paid off.
Thank you so much for taking the time to pop over for a visit and I hope you’re having a wonderful day. Don’t forget to stop by Celebrate Your Story! Link Party and show us what you’ve been working on. I’m also sharing my Winter Blue Table at the following link parties.
