Award season isn’t over yet so there’s still time for you to put together a Hooray for Hollywood Tablescape. I’ve been giving you a sneak peek on Facebook and Instagram and want to share the rest of my pics and how to’s with you.
Last year I did a Mini Hollywood Movie Night Snack Bar and still had most of the décor to use with this one. The challenge always lies in using what you have in a different way. It saves time, money and helps to get the creative juices flowing.
The Makings of a Hooray for Hollywood Tablescape
Although I’ve used this backdrop in several posts before I’m not sure if I’ve shared exactly what it is. These are shower curtains that my Mr. put up as a divider in our basement. Other than being a great backdrop, these often hide lots of stuff. The other cool thing about them is they can be easily changed. For this table, however, they added to the drama that I wanted. After centering the table in the space, I attached two Hollywood Stars to the shower curtains with double sided tape.
The table is a 6ft banquet table and is spread with a red polyester cloth and a red satin and sequin runner. This table isn’t very deep so I positioned the center display at the rear. Due to the small space I wasn’t able to go really over the top with my décor.
The clapboard which came from Hobby Lobby is just the right size and is a great focal point. In front of it there are two movie reels which I think came from B&H Video. Unable to locate mini Oscar replicas (translation they were too expensive) I picked up these small star trophies from Party City. On each side, I used an almost forgotten DIY project from several years back; gold-glittered wine bottles. One large, and two smaller bottles. Each is decorated with ribbon, a decorative button, plus black feathers inserted inside.
Each stack begins with a gold charger and is followed by a black dinner plate, and a red salad plate topped with a smaller black dessert plate. I used a red and a black napkin and they’re brought together with a gold napkin ring.
Gold toned flatware are the most appropriate as are the black stem champagne flutes and clear water goblet.
My daughter seems to have forgotten that her black chair covers with the white bows are languishing in my stash so I decided they would add a little bit of elegance to this setting. Specialty tables like this Hooray for Hollywood Tablescape are always fun to pull together and as always you don’t have to break the bank. Shop your home, shop your home, shop your home!
These are the link parties I participate in. Drop by and show them a little love!
