Try these S’Mores Brownies Dipped in Chocolate for an over the top treat guaranteed to chase away the winter blues.
What happens when you combine a brownie mix with several kinds of chocolate? You have a Loaded Brownie Cake and it will not disappoint! We are still in the midst of a holiday food hangover but I wanted to share this with you. This is so simple and is perfect for a New Years Eve buffet or your New Years Day dinner.
The beauty of this treat is that it starts with a boxed mix. However, if you want to whip up a batch of brownies from scratch that works also. I also love that whether you use a mix or scratch recipe, it requires only one bowl and there is no need for a mixer.
I baked this in a 9-inch round cake pan so that I could serve it cake style rather than cut it into bars. Again, we’re talking personal preference. There is no right or wrong way to do this. After mixing the dry ingredients with the wet I added ¾ cup mini chocolate chips. I then baked it according to the package directions. After the brownie cake cooled I spread the top with chocolate ganache that was leftover from a previous recipe. From there I topped it with white chocolate glaze and sprinkled more mini chocolate chips over the top.
Possible Substitutions for a Loaded Brownie Cake
- Instead of plain brownie mix – brownie mix with caramel or walnuts, or a blondie mix.
- Rather than mini chocolate chips in the mix- chocolate chunks, white chocolate chips, toffee chips, or butterscotch chips.
- Chocolate ganache not your thing? Try white chocolate glaze on top- plain chocolate or buttercream frosting, chocolate glaze, German chocolate frosting, white chocolate ganache, or a dusting of powdered sugar.
- Omit the mini chocolate chips on top for one or more of these- toffee chips, butterscotch chips, nuts, coconut, crushed peppermint, shave chocolate of chocolate curls. The possibilities are endless!
I hope your Christmas was filled with love and I wish you the best New Year Ever, see ya next year!!
