I decided to set this Casual Green and White Spring Tablescape up in my kitchen. This is probably only the second or third time I’ve done this. Buffet tables don’t count. It was a gorgeous sunny day and I thought it was time for a little something different.
On any given day, my kitchen table can be the landing spot for mail, cookbooks, assorted electronic devices and a fruit bowl. My intention was to set it up, take pictures and dismantle it right away. However, it was kind of cute and I wanted to look at it a little longer. While I was in my office Mr. Sweets came upstairs and I heard him say, “wow”. After his reaction, I knew leaving it up through dinner was a great idea.
Dinner was very casual, brats with sautéed onions and a salad. For some reason that meager meal tasted like a million bucks at this table. I did remove the goblets, they are very fragile and I didn’t want to risk catsup stains on the white napkins so I put them away also.
The next morning, I disassembled it and we were back to business as usual in the kitchen. For now, the mail doesn’t linger on the table, or my cookbooks and when a meal is served the electronic devices are banished to the family room. We’ll see how long ‘for now” lasts.
This is a small squarish glass table. I started with this green and white tablecloth with an almost chain link design. The size of the cloth fits this table much better than the one in the dining room. With limited space, I kept the dinnerware to a minimum with the centerpiece being the only décor.
Each stack begins with a plywood charger. I had a bunch of them cut from a 4×8 piece at Home Depot. On top of it I used a green dinnerplate with a creamy white rim. A simple white napkin was placed on the plate followed by this funky green colored fork. A green goblet from Pier 1 finished the table.
I did add one more piece and it’s the planter on the windowsill. The colors were perfect and it provided a great backdrop. After this, you know my wheels have been turning with ideas for additional tablescapes in the kitchen. We’ll see what happens!
These are the link parties I participate in. Drop by and show them a little love!
