Creating yummy desserts and pretty tablescapes is lots of fun and two of my most favorite things to do. However, all that fun and excitement comes with a small price, cleaning and organization. Admittedly I am not the neatest person on the planet. When I’m in my kitchen/laboratory sugar, flour and crumbs often fly all over the place. To date, my pretend housekeeper Esmeralda has not shown up for duty so clean up is my job.
If the floor in the kitchen isn’t clean debris can and will be tracked to other areas of the house. Trust me; there is nothing worse than a trail of flour or powdered sugar on dark carpet. As part of OXOSpringCleaning! Campaign I received the Home Cleaning Kit and talk about perfect timing!!
You know it’s time to get it together when you open your cabinets and sprinkles bounce off the counter and land on the floor, and of course the contents spill. I hate it when that happens!!! This dust pan and brush saved me from pulling out the big guns.
There are so many neat products in the Home Cleaning Kit. I love, love, love, the any angle broom, it is so perfect for sweeping under the stove, refrigerator and in the corners.
The large sweep set with extendable broom is actually fun to use. Have you ever had to do the tango with a broom while trying to sweep debris into the dustpan? The handle on this broom is retractable making that task tons easier. Also, I’ve had my fill of flimsy dustpans that allow the dust to slide underneath it. Who wants to chase a line of dust all over the place? By the way those legs belong to my son!
I would show you my membership card to the I Buy Too Much Tableware Club but its being bronzed right now. My dinnerware stash borders on being out of control. Storing linens properly is essential to them looking fresh and keeping them organized. The expandable drawer divider is giving me a good start on storing and sorting my napkins. I love being able to seen what I have at a glance rather than hunting in different storage spots. Whether dishes and stemware are stored in the open or in a cabinet they still get dusty and so do the shelves.
OXO’s micro fiber delicate duster comes in real handy. The caution here is to be very careful not to knock anything over when you’re dusting inside your china cabinet.
Speaking of dust collectors; keyboards are an all time dust magnet. I can’t tell you how many q-tips I’ve gone through trying to clean my keyboard and other electronic devices. Hats off to OXO for the electronics cleaning brush, it saves you time and frustration. One end of the brush has retractable bristles and the other is a silicone wiper.
Check out the compact dustpan I think it’s safe to say that I’m not the only foodie who has encountered a few crumbs here and there or glitter when setting up a photo shoot. The last thing I want to do is bring out my full size broom and dustpan. This is also going in my photo styling kit for when I’m doing a shoot away from home.
These products make cleanup and maintenance so easy. You really should give them a try.
As a part of OXO’s Blogger Outreach Program, I received a free Home Springcleaning Kit. The views and opinions expressed in this blog are purely and entirely my own.
