As a grandmother, one of my favorite pastimes is hanging out with my granddaughter Gabrielle. Gabbigirl as we call her, has a voracious sweet tooth (wonder where she got that from). To satisfy her sweet cravings I’m always on the hunt for treats that have a few health benefits. Snack Pack Pudding Cups fit the bill perfectly. Each cup is fortified with as much calcium as an 8oz glass of milk. Since she’s not a huge fan of milk this is a sweet but sneaky way to up her calcium intake.
When she found out, I was doing a post with Snack Pack mix-ins she was eager to help. I think she was also looking forward to being in front of the camera again. Baby girl never met a camera she didn’t like! Her sharing this project with me was a win-win for both of us.
What’s a chore to some is another one of my favorite pastimes is grocery shopping unbelievably. Meijers is one of my preferred stomping grounds and that is where I picked up the Snack Packs and all of the mix-ins for this project. Meijers also has a free rewards program called mperks and from 10/4-10/31, all mperks members get $1.00 off the purchase of 4 Snack Packs. You can find the mperks offer here and then search for Snack Packs. Signing up is easy and as an mperks member you are eligible for savings on lots of grocery and household items.
There are so many pudding cup flavors to choose from that I tossed them all in my basket and walked around with them until I could decide. Honestly, you can’t go wrong with any flavor. Did you know that Snack Pack Pudding Bars are also available? These tasty gems are excellent for serving along with the pudding cups or just by themselves as a snack.
So, along with the pudding cup flavors that I chose plus the pudding bars I also grabbed some other goodies to create more mix-ins just in time for Halloween. Kids tend to like unusual combinations and what better time than Halloween to go all out.
Before adding our kooky combos, the cups got all dressed up in their Halloween costumes. I found the printables for the pudding cups online and took them to the office supply store for printing. The cost to do this is low and it saves my printer ink.
Gabbi and I crumbled some of the pudding bars and used them to create a dirt topping for the cups. Then we added gummy worms and a few candy eyes. Yeah that’s a Halloween combination for sure. To some of the others we mixed in chopped chocolate nougat candy with more worms.
My favorite mix-in was the candy-coated Jiffy popcorn. Once the popcorn was ready, I divided the batch in half, melted blue and yellow candy wafers and poured them separately on each half. What’s a candy coated popcorn mix-in without candy eyes staring back at you?
The decorated cups complete with mix-ins were so cute that I decided to create a themed table around them. I dug into my supply stash for kraft bags, embellished them with printables, and filled them with the remaining popcorn.
Gabbi loves this old school skeleton so he was dressed up also. Mr. Skull and the backdrop poster blended perfectly with the pudding cups.
Halloween decorated Snack Packs and mix-ins make great treats for your kids or grandkids school parties and the parties you may host in your home. When you pick up your packs at Meijers be sure and grab a couple packs of the Chocolate Caramel for yourself, they are so good!
When it comes to mix-ins the possibilities are endless, and don’t let that mperks offer expire before you pick up your Snack Packs!
These are the linky parties I participate in. Drop by and show them a little love!
