I dug deep into my hoarders bin for this fall tablescape. It seems like eons since I’ve been into TJ Maxx or Burlington. I’ve even stopped my weekly thrift store ventures. Oddly enough I’ve showed tremendous restraint when I go into Pier 1. All of this could be attributed to lack of storage, less discretionary income, or common sense. How about all three!
This table came together like an episode of Chopped. I went to my storage areas and put some items in my gigantic proverbial basket and this is what I whipped up.
First time items are the appetizer plates that I bought at Burlington’s many months ago. Plus the placemats, napkins and napkin rings from Pier 1 also purchased months ago.
For this fall tablescape, I tried an ivory tablecloth, a white one, and navy. Neither felt right so I decided to not use one at all. The candelabra I wanted to use required five short pillars and I do believe gremlins have hidden mine, I could only find one. Enter taper holders. Thankfully, I have plenty tapers that aren’t playing hide and go seek. The orange votive holders begged to be used again and who am I to say no?
The gold mercury vases came from TJ Maxx after Christmas and I pulled the curly cues from vases in the living room. I don’t think I could have found better glasses to go with the red goblets. I’ve used the gold band cordials many times and the tumblers are from the thrift store.
New gold tone cutlery is still at the top of my wish list. Until I find some reasonably priced these old ones from Fingerhut will do. By the way does Fingerhut still exist?
Mother Nature has given us a small reprieve from the chilly temps but I know it will be short lived. Full has officially arrived and I’m almost ready to bring out all things fall. That includes one of the best things about autumn; pumpkin spiced lattes.
Partying with my peeps this week. Please join us!
