There hasn’t been any baking going on around here lately, but we still have to eat. I tiptoed downstairs this morning just to breathe in my kitchen/lab. That really does sound kind of pathetic I know. Slowly but surely I’m on my feet more, just to test the waters. Needless to say my family has been absolutely amazing. Even Princess Gabbi has been pitching in. She makes sure I have water, a stuffed animal and the charger for my phone, gotta love her.
We have had lots of sandwiches and so far no one is complaining. I didn’t want the fixings just plunked down on the counter and then have everyone go for it, I wanted them arranged. Hey it’s in my blood and I can’t shake it.
Thankfully when you’re working with cold cuts there’s no mixing, stirring and minimal standing. So my friends, we had sandwiches again.
For our dining pleasure we feasted on sliced ham and turkey. Our choices for bread were pitas, ciabatta, and everything bagels. Somehow, olives, banana peppers and Colby jack cheese made these sammies a bit more high tech. During my downtime I’ve been doing lots of reflection as well as pinning recipes, and that is a good thing.
The last couple of weeks have left me feeling out of sorts, out of whack, and stressed to the max. Which is just a way of saying that I’m feeling out of balance. So what is balance, and how and where do we get it. That is the $64 million question. For sure we have a good idea when our lives aren’t balanced. We feel anxious, tired, may be sick, irritable and feel downright miserable. And that’s just how we feel when we wake up! Starting a day like that means the rest of the day is a moot point. When was the last time you had a day that you felt was best not experienced? None of us are immune to those feelings, it’s how we deal with coming back to center that makes a difference.
Many of us try to do too many things at once; for ourselves and others. Too much stress on the chain and one of the links is bond to break. At times we expect too much from others and that ends in frustration, which leads to stress and imbalance. Have you noticed that the word stress keeps popping up? So it looks like it’s a little bit of this and that which creates balance, right? Can that same formula be applied to the rest of our lives? Let’s see; a little work, a little play, some me time, and being in service to others. Hmm, sounds like a plan to me. I say we test out that theory and see if we can cash the check for answering the $64 million question.
Thanks for all the support and well wishes, you guys rock!!!!
