This morning I awoke with the realization that if I cross off a third of the baking and decorating ideas off my list it would be a great accomplishment. I also realized that I will have to spend less time on Pinterest and more time in my woman cave getting busy.
Typically, I drag out the bins of décor and the tree and let them sit for a day or two. That’s not how it’s working this year. For one I had my son do the dragging out of holiday “stuff” and I immediately set the tree up and decorated it.
While sorting through the plastic bins I discovered this Christmas dinnerware that I had planned to use last year but didn’t. So this red and white holiday Tablescape is first up this year. My original plan was to use a ted tablecloth. Well I did use it, but the white cloth is an overlay. A new red tablecloth is on my wish list and Santa if you’re listening I’ve been good.
If memory serves me these plates with the red ribbon and greenery came from the dollar store as did the white bowls with the gold trim. The dinner plate sits on a fluted red charger and between the plate and bowl is a red salad plate. My red handled flatware didn’t make as many table appearances as in other years and I was happy to bring them out. Resting on a white polyester napkin they are striking!
In addition to making this table bright I wanted it to be fun. Fun came in the form of the two metal trees on either side of the white candelabra. These little trees were an after season purchase from Family Dollar a few years ago. They aren’t super sturdy but serve the purpose. Check out my post Candles In the Wind for how I transformed the thrift store candelabra.
I absolutely love these red goblets and paired with another simple cut glass one. They are more than enough for this setting. With this Tablescape I hope you see that it’s easy to create the mood you want to convey without an overabundance of décor and dinnerware on your table. I also hope that last statement doesn’t come back to take a bite out of my you know what with the next table. Take Care friends!
These are the linky parties I participate in. Drop by and show them a little love!
