This super vibrant party is from Dawn at Not Just a Mommy. Dawn is one of the most helpful bloggers ever. She is patient and very willing to help and generous with her time. She’s also one busy lady, maintaining her blog, planning parties and lending her crafty skill and expertise to other sites. Oh and lest I forget she does all this while being a Mommy and a military wife.
Typically most New Year’s parties are full of glitter and sparkle. Dawn went in the opposite direction and chose a vibrant color palette and opted for a New Year’s Day Brunch rather than a New Year’s Eve bash.
The perfect way to start 2012…have a few friends over for brunch! That’s what we did on Sunday. A few guests were still hurting at 11 a.m…even we were a little slow, having to get up early to get ready. So, I opened up my bag of party tricks and pulled out everyone I knew, so hang on….
Check out the mimosa bar. The labels are from Eat Drink Chic and the small bottles are just mini Martinelli’s all dolled up with scrapbook paper. I am so digging the backdrop which is cloth shower curtain. How doable is that?
Glitter sticker on the glasses and a uber kid friendly kids table. We have a big family and there’s always kids around so having activities for them is a sanity saver.
Look at the cereal in the jars and the egg candy in the mini skillets. She found them at Target in the dollar section. As much as I love to shop the dollar sections I don’t know how I never seen those?
When you know you’ll be having lots of parties it’s a good idea to have some basics in place to save some time. Command Cord Clips in the ceiling for hanging balloons, lanterns, etc is a good idea and no worries about residue from tape. DIY and style play well together as evidenced by the bandana napkins and clear serving trays used as chargers.
Other than that fantastic food spread I am head over heels in love with the fans and lanterns she hung. OMG I can’t wait to do that, love those colors.
There is so much more to see, please head over to Just a Mommy and check out all of the pictures. While you’re there hang out for a while and check out some of her other parties and ideas. Thank you so much Dawn for sharing your awesome New Year’s Day Brunch.
