The title modern autumn tablescape came from my granddaughter Gabrielle. She is my tablescaping assistant in training. Whenever I’m undecided about a color scheme, napkin, etc I ask her and usually she’s spot on with her recommendation. Just for the record I don’t steer her in any direction. When given the choice between two napkins the one here was her choice. Her thought was that it looked more modern. Not having a tablecloth was also her choice.
She repeated modern autumn tablescape several times. I think the little lady was pretty proud of herself. Now on to the details of this family friendly table.
From the files of waste not want not I spray painted wine bottles to use as vases for the centerpiece. After giving them a couple of coats and letting them dry I brushed on some gold glitter paint. It gave the bottles just the amount of shimmer that I was going for. Into each bottle I placed some feathers (I’m on a feather kick lately), and mums. I don’t know what the fuzzy stems are called but they worked for me. The last items added were the acrylic beads. All in a seasonal appropriate color. A .59 brown scalloped charger is the base and a twig wreath circle the entire piece.
On each side of the centerpiece is a gold mercury glass votive holder along with a smaller gold matte one.
The stack starts with a brown spiral placemat. Making its second appearance on my table is the beige/white flowered dinnerware from Burlington’s. I’ve had the rustic flatware for many years and don’t remember where they came from. Fingerhut maybe, but I’m not sure. Gabbi’s choice of napkin for this modern autumn tablescape came from the clearance bin at one of the thrift stores I frequent. Lots of their linens and home goods come from Target and they are a steal.
On my “A Huntington We Will Go” table I used these large goblets and figured why not let them serve double duty. The smaller multisided goblet is also a thrift find.
I have to give another big thank you to my helper. It’s a pleasure to have her take an interest in what I’m doing. However, I do have my limits. For the longest she’s been asking can she do my make-up. Ummmmm…no. Gotta love her!
These are the linky parties I participate in. Drop by and show them a little love!
