For a little over two weeks the only thing on my dining room table was a silk flower arrangement. I and the table needed a breather. There are some weeks when the ideas come quickly, the past month, not so much. Some of the tablescapes I wan to put together don’t have all of the elements I feel are needed to pull it off. Others are waiting for the right time of year. So, my table was bare for a while.
About a month ago I bought a fabric remnant and sat it on my work table. It would wink and whisper each time I passed it. Finally the wink became a stare down and the whisper was a yell. I around with the dinnerware and tried a different placement with the fabric and wasn’t feeling it at all. I wanted the table to be fun and what’s more fun than a table set for a buffet!
The color fabric serves as an overlay to the white polyester tablecloth. I ditched the chargers, napkin rings and candelabras and pulled out my colorful flatware. The white enamel tray is used to hold the goblets because as you see there will be wine. Woo-hoo!!! The aqua plates are a thrift store find and the price of .49 was a mere pittance. I’m a firm believer that you can never have too much white dinnerware, it always comes in handy.
The white wire basket came from Wal-Mart over a year ago and I place white napkins plus yellow and teal cutlery inside. Milk white vases hold brightly colored silk flowers that pick up on the yellow in the cloth.
I placed the bottle of wine on a stainless steel wine coaster and to the right of it are short pillar candles in wire holders with a leaf design. At the other end of the table are two ivory tea light holders that are from Pier 1. Fun is in the air at Sweet Sensations and I hope it’s at your place as well. Take Care!
I’m bringing the fun to a few link parties this week. Stop by and take a look.
