A little later than planned, here is the Tablescape companion to the Plaid, Plaid World Dessert Table. This one is definitely a contender for my most favorite Christmas Tablescape ever.
The red tablecloth that I’m hoping to replace soon is still up and serving its purpose. The overlay is a black and white checkered cloth. I found it at the back of a clearance bin at Burlington’s. It is obviously not the right size for my table but for $6.98 I knew it could still be put to good use.
A white charger is the foundation of the place setting. Our everyday black dinner plates are a striking contrast against them. Next the stacks really gets to be fun. Oh how I love this set of plaid dessert plates. Target to the rescue! There are two black/white plates and two red/black ones in the set. On top of each plaid plate is an adorable plaid burlap ornament. Love those 40% off coupons from the craft stores.
I used faux mother of pearl flatware to complement the setting. The knife and spoon are on the table in their traditional spots. The forks sit in a red bowl with white interior. Along with them are a white napkin accented with a plaid reindeer mini clothespin.
With the plaid frenzy going on I decided that two simple multi-sided goblets would suffice.
In the center of the table I used a swag that is very old. Until I pulled it from its storage bin I never paid much attention to the plaid ribbon used in the design. To top off my plaid extravaganza is a Christmas sign.
As I’ve said for some reason I have a thing for reindeer this season and retailers have made sure that I had lots to choose from. These two bronze glittered ones were a little shelf worn but I decided to take them anyway. Love!!!
Two small evergreen trees with a burlap base sit in red mini colanders to complete the rustic look.
There may still be time for another table if I finish shopping, wrap the gifts, start baking cookies, buy supplies for when the kids arrive next week, change the linen, dust……….
These are the linky parties I participate in. Drop by and show them a little love!
