In my last post I told you about my ankle injury and here’s an update. According to my x-rays there is calcification in my Achilles Tendon. This morning I had an MRI and will find out the results next week. Depending on the results I will see the orthopedic doctor right away or in September. As you can imagine this is very unsettling. My job, and what I’m most passionate about doing involves standing. If, as a last resort surgery is required the recovery and inactive period could be from 4-12 weeks. Other then the loss of income I would be bat crazy not being able to maintain the lifestyle I’m used to.
On the other hand, this episode has lasted twice as long as other occurrences and has been twice as painful. Without knowing what caused this it’s likely to happen again, so now what? The swelling has gone down, the pain is off and on but not nearly as bad and I’ve ditched the crutches. If I stand too long the pain intensifies so I’ve been lounging, a lot. There are visions of chocolate cake, martinis and gorgeous tabletops running through my head. As tempted as I am to take my time and go downstairs and get busy, I’m hesitant and I think rightly so. I’ve been doing some light upper body workouts while sitting but it feels like I’m just going through the motions.
Soooooo, what am I going to do? Pray for sure. Think happy thoughts? I’m doing my best on that one also. I know this sounds all doom and gloom, but I do know that this too shall pass, how soon I don’t know. In the meantime I have a gaggle of recipes that I want to whip up and I’d like to share a few of them with you.
Oh how I would love to chow down on any of those treats at this table. Especially because of the person’s name the post was tagged with. I think it’s hilarious that we have the same name! Rest assure I didn’t do this one; at least not yet.
Any of these would make me do a happy dance right now. Hmm, maybe not a dance, but I would be grinning from ear to ear. I’ll keep you posted.
