A while back I was lucky enough to win the CalNaturale giveaway hosted by Cindy @ LookTasty. CalNaturale is a third generation business located in Northern California.I couldn’t wait to get my hands on it. When I read about the product on Cindy’s blog I was very intrigued. Sevelte is their line of energy drinks (svelte is such a cool word) and they contain inulin. CalNaturale Svelte is part of California Natural Products. Rather than attempt a clumsy definition check here http://sveltebrand.com/nutrition/ for all you ever wanted to know about insulin and the other ingredients in Svelte. It’s low glycemic which means you won’t have a rush of insulin as it breaks down in the bloodstream, and that’s a good thing.
Now for the really good stuff. The good folks at CalNaturale sent me two each of their energy drinks; Spiced Chai, Cappuccino, Chocolate and French Vanilla, all organic. The containers have cute sayings on them. The chocolate drinks says ‘hello beautiful”, how’s that for motivation? So far I’ve had the Cappuccino, and it is extremely smooth and silky with no aftertaste. It’s not one of those make you run around like a chicken with your head cut off energy drinks. It’s way too classy for that. There was more of a sense of well being, and how cool is that.
There was a slight delay in getting the package to me so they also included some of their organic wine. Yeah Baby!!! Chardonnay and Cabernet Sauvignon. The wine is packaged in a lightweight, re-sealable and unbreakable container which makes it convenient and very portable. Think picnic, outdoor concerts, or just your backyard. No glass to break, no corkscrew needed. Push come to shove you could drink it from the container. There are three servings per container and I tell you this came at the perfect time. After the over the top week I had last week, I relaxed on my front porch and sampled the wines. I found the Chardonnay to be very crisp with a light fruity taste and a slight buttery smell. The Cabernet was very robust and had a definite fruity taste. I’ve had other Cab’s that had a distinctive bite to them, thankfully this one didn’t. The wines, sunshine and warm weather made for a wonderful and peaceful afternoon. Thank you CalNaturale and Cindy.
