Time flies when you’re having fun, and with Gabrielle there is never a dull moment. Our resident Princess/wanna be /Goth Girl turned eight yesterday and by our standards the celebration was very low key. It’s not that we weren’t primed and ready for entertaining, you know me better than that by now. The big party is this weekend and it’s a skating party.
She is super excited even though she doesn’t skate very well. Our granddaughter just likes to party. Unfortunately or maybe fortunately I won’t be doing much. My job will be to make the cake; possibly some favor bags, and sit down and look cute, HA!!!
Our son and daughter-in-law are coming from Indiana so I will still get to fix lots of fattening food. No worries though I’m planning ahead and making things that don’t require too much standing time.
Gabbi’ is totally hooked on chocolate cake and that’s what she wanted for her birthday treat yesterday. Along with that the princess requested Fried Chicken, Greens, and Hawaiian Rolls. I made jumbo chocolate cupcakes and covered them in chocolate glaze and then added a sprinkle of grated white chocolate. Low key or not I had to make a pretty table for her. Nothing over the top, just a little something to make her feel extra special. Maybe next year I’ll be up for that dance off she wanted to have. Happy Birthday Gabster, Nanni and Poppa love you in big ol bunches!!!
