This is how it starts, usually. A little girl gets an Easy Bake Oven and a passion for baking is born. Our little on again off again baking diva Gabbi would rather watch the Disney channel rather than help her Nanni in the kitchen. She’s had her Easy Bake Oven for about a year and has probably used it four times. As she was wishing a lot of wishes in the toy catalog yesterday she marked the oven as a toy she wants for Christmas. After reminding her that she already had one she caught the baking bug; for about 45 minutes.
I was busy trying to figure out what to bake next, so her mom stepped in as assistant pastry chef. Gabbi said she’d totally forgot that she had an Easy Bake Oven. Ya think? She and her mom (with a suggestion from Nanni) decided to bake Funfetti Cakes. Guess they’ll be in the kitchen all night, HA! I was promised the first tasty cake. After it baked and cooled I took an obligatory bite and complimented my granddaughter on her baking skills. As the next cake baked, the 35 year old woman disguised as a six year girl became restless. With a quick toss of the head she bounded up the steps asking to be notified when the timer went off. This kid is hilarious.
Three Funfetti Easy Bake Oven cakes was the limit for she and her mom. Too bad Disney doesn’t make a Hanna Montana, Wizards of Waverly Place, Justin Bieber, Suite Life of Zack and Cody Easy Bake Oven. She’d be all over it.
