I rise early when the house is quiet and I have it all to myself. Like many others, my day starts with a cup of coffee and the smell of it brewing is comforting. I also allow myself the indulgence of adding International Delights Creamers to my cuppa joe. As I sit and sip, that first cup sets the tone for a productive day.
When the seasonal creamers hit the dairy case it’s my unofficial signal to start making plans for holiday baking. Peppermint Mocha, Pumpkin Pie Spice and Frosted Sugar Cookie how do you choose just one? With Pumpkin Pie Spice I would get the seasonal blend of spices reminiscent of pumpkin pie. Or were my taste buds craving for a chocolate meets peppermint flavor in the form of Peppermint Mocha. My baking heart was begging for the nostalgic taste of home in Frosted Sugar Cookie. While at Walmart I decided to grab one of each, now that first cup in the morning has a holiday feel. I love the quart size bottles but I also like the mini creamers. When we have company over I like to leave out the minis because they don’t have to be refrigerated and they don’t take up lots of room. I’ve also been known to use them as stocking stuffers.
I’m not only dressing up my holiday mornings, but I’m going to dress up a few holiday desserts as well. By now you know how that when I bake I can’t leave a recipe alone. It’s the little add-ins that often bring the biggest taste impact. A while back I shared that one of the easiest ways to enhance and change a dessert be it cake or pie is to add a different flavor. Let me tell you these International Delight Seasonal flavors are a game changer for me this year. They are the proverbial light bulb that went off.
Trust me, the taste is off the hook! It’s even more special because these flavors aren’t always available. That’s why I’m adding a little something extra for my family and guests this holiday season. There are certain desserts that are a must in the Sweet Sensations household. If I decided, we weren’t going to have them there would be a mutiny. So, while sitting one morning and jotting ideas for my holiday baking I decided to give them their tried and true favorites but with a twist. A win for everyone!
The holidays would not be the same without Sweet Potato Pie. I swapped the evaporated milk in my recipe with the Frosted Sugar Cookie Creamer. Sweet Mother of Pearl! It’s like having a sugar cookie and sweet potato pie in one bite. When all of the kids are home I make at least four pies. With my tweak I may have to up that number. This would be great with Pumpkin Pie and the Pumpkin Spice Creamer as well. To take your creamer game to the next level check here.
You’ll also find a Bundt Cake on my dessert table as well. For my standard Buttermilk Bundt cake I added half of the required buttermilk and for the other half I used the Peppermint Mocha Creamer. The peppermint flavor was full but not overwhelming. I also used it to make a simple glaze along with powdered sugar. To top it off literally and figuratively I garnished the cake with crushed peppermints.

Tis the season for parties and these are the ones I’m going to this week.
