Styling this Classy and Casual July 4th Tablescape was made easy by using inexpensive items.
I was determined to share at least one July 4th Tablescape this year. These days it seems that I do more last minute tables than anything else. This could be due to the ever-present temptation of Pinterest and me wanting to look at my tables a little longer before I style a new one. I guess it’s time make use of the kitchen table a little more.
The Makings of a Classy and Casual July 4th Tablescape
My goal in styling this table was to achieve a look that honored our traditional patriotic colors in a semi-formal setting. Here is how I achieved the look.
The table starts with a white polyester tablecloth as the base. On top of it, I used a red/white/blue fabric remnant as an overlay.
I like to place my centerpiece first because most of the time it is the focal point of the table. This one starts with this finial type urn with a mixture of red/white/blue flowers. I used the top piece to the finial to enhance the view from the back.
On each side of the finial, I used oversized red hobnail votive holders. Inside each one is a hydrangea.
The white wooden candlesticks on each end came from my grocery store. The rock bottom, too good to be true price on these was $1.49 marked down from $14.99.
This stack has a mixture of patterns which make for visual interest. I began the stack with red fluted edge chargers followed by a white square dinner plate. On top of it, I place a red and white plaid tea towel (I ♥ tea towels) with a bit of blue at the ends.
On top of it sits a white salad place with a blue dotted swirl. To finish the stack, I used red bowls with white interior. My red handled flatware finishes the stack.
For the final touch, I used red goblets from Pier 1, cobalt blue dollar store tumblers, and clear thrift store water goblets.
Have you finalized your plans for the July 4th holiday? If so, please share, we love to be inspired.
