I know I said I was done with Christmas pictures and posts but I have one more. Well actually two, I’m waiting on a recipe from my son and then I promise I’ll be done with the Christmas stuff. We decided again to serve Christmas dinner downstairs. When we have family gatherings that’s where we eat. Since our family is happily growing it is more comfortable and convenient to set up the tables and chairs downstairs so we can all sit together.
While I was putting the finishing touches on desserts, Charisse set the table. The girl has a knack for setting a table. I wonder where she got that from. All kidding aside she has a great sense of style for decorating and fashion. Sometimes I give her an idea and she runs with it. At other times she just goes for it and nails it.
One thing we didn’t do was use chair covers. We were way too tired to iron those bad boys and we opted out. So forgive our hodgepodge collection of chairs.
The centerpiece came out so pretty. I got the candleholder at Michaels back in the fall with the intention of using it for Halloween. Guess this was the right time for it to make its debut. She tucked in a few seasonal flowers and some faux crystals that I actually bought to use on a cake.
Charisse is quickly becoming the queen of napkin folds. I love what she did with these! She also makes a mean dish of macaroni and cheese and the cabbage was out of this world! Thank goodness for daughter in laws that help out with the dishes. Using real stuff is very nice but washing them can be a royal pain. Thank you LaShone and Rupal for tackling the kitchen after dinner and for all the chopping and slicing. I also have to thank Charisse’s boyfriend Damion for frying a turkey for us. The weather outside was frightful but that didn’t stop the Mr. from grilling ribs for us and we polished them off in good fashion! Everyone in our family doesn’t always cook but they help out in other ways. My sons made sure I wasn’t making repeated trips up and down the stairs or running errands. Thank you sons of mine! Ok here’s our Christmas menu.
