It feels so good to finally get outside and do a little yard work. Lots of sunshine and warm temps were more than enough motivation for me to do more work getting the deck ready for outdoor entertaining. Although not completely ready I have a good start.
Planting herbs and a few flowers filled my Saturday and it was a beautiful day. Hubby and I took several breaks just to enjoy the view while sipping a cool beverage. As excited as we are about the holiday and the weather there is a slight downside. On Monday a drainage renewal project is slated to begin in our subdivision. The heavy equipment has been rolling in all week and it’s been more of a focal point than the flowers everyone has been planting. We’re told this project may not tie up until August. While it is necessary and we all knew it was coming it’s going to be a royal pain. Everyone’s approach and curbside lawn will be a total wash and navigating the streets is sure to be a nightmare. Oh well, it must be done and we’ll survive.
We are so happy to see so many new friends showing up to our weekly bash and very appreciative of those who party with us each week. Here are the chosen features from last week’s party.
These Turtle Crepes with Custard Cream from Marilyn’s Treats look melt in your mouth delicious. Check out this yummy treat and her blog. Marilyn regularly shares her tried and true baking tips and hosts several blog parties.
Looks like fancy desserts were on several bloggers minds this week. Chloe chose this Strawberry Chocolate Cake from OMG Strawberry Chocolate Cake. OMG is right!!
Jenny chose this DIY Porch Swing from Sawdust and Spice. Somewhere deep inside there is a part of me that would like to tackle a project like this but the baker part of me keeps drowning it out! This is one gorgeous project.
We’re all about sharing and caring so show us what you’ve been working with!
