Welcome to the 36th edition of Celebrate Your Story. Thanks so much to all of you for helping our party grow. There is a bevy of link parties to join and we appreciate you taking the time to join us each week. The dog days of summer are upon us and there is still time for lots of summer meals, days at the beach and just plain ol relaxing. So let’s squeeze out as much warm weather fun as we can!
In an effort to have my cake and eat it too I am so happy that Michelle at Just 2 Sisters posted this roundup of 15 Low Carb Dinners.
We are in the season for all things beach-y and The Party Suite at Bellenza shared a fun tutorial on how to create a lighthouse centerpiece for a nautical theme birthday party.
Debby from Debby Goes Shabby is thinking ahead and her Christmas in July was the post clicked on post.
In my haste to get back to baking I bought lots of produce including peaches to make my Peach Galette with Almonds. Unfortunately, the blueberries didn’t make it and I believe they were going downhill when I bought them.
Here’s a kitchen tip that I hope will keep you from making the same mistake I did. When buying blueberries in see through containers check the underside for signs of mold and leakage. A quick peak underneath will let you know if the berries are fresh or funky. As with most berries don’t wash them until you are ready to use them. Blueberries can be frozen (unwashed) in a zippered bag. You can also lay them out on a parchment lined sheet in a single layer to flash freeze them so they don’t clump together. This makes it easier to remove only as many as you want.
