It’s birthday week and I’m ready to let the celebration begin. I’ve put together a tables cape to set the mood for the festivities. In keep with the color scheme of the dessert buffet, which I am jumping up and down excited about, I’ve used pink, white and black.
The table is covered with a white cloth that I have certainly gotten my money’s worth from and then some. I used a shimmery silver and black fabric remnant that I picked up from the thrift store for $2.00. This is an excellent way to build my collection of runners and throws for my tables. The fabric was twisted and swirled on the ends. The end swirls is where I placed to blinged out votive holders. If you look closely around the base of the fabric there’s a little more bling for added sparkle. Anchoring the ends of the runner are crystal candle holders with white tapers.
In my never ending search for damask I found the two boxes at the dollar store. With Valentine’s Day right around the corner, pink stuff was all over the place. I liked the polka dots and decided to go with it for fill ins on my table.
I’m developing a real affinity for mercury glass so I brought this one out again and filled it with as many pink flowers as I had on hand. Floral design is definitely not my forte so I keep it as simple as possible.
The silver frame with my Happy Birthday message is the segue into all things damask when I put together the dessert buffet. I’ve been trying hand at printables and must admit I’m feeling a little crafty. This dollar store find will be used repeatedly.
Although I’m still excited about all the possibilities for the wooden chargers I had made, these silver ones were exactly what this table needed. They and the black plates were used in my Halloween Table. You’ll also recognize the pink and white bowls from the Pink for the Cure setting. As much as I love thrifting and buying new things, it’s good to use what’s on hand.
My white pearl handled flatware has been tucked away far too long. If memory serves me correct I bought these at Meijers years ago. The pink napkins masquerading as bunny ears are from Walmart and the stemware from the thrift shop.
