The flu bug wrestled me to the ground, and twisted my arm behind my back until I cried uncle. Sniffles and cold medicine were also a part of my birthday celebration but it was all good. My daughter told me not to bake a cake that she would take care of it.
She bought me a White Velvet Cake from the Patisserie, one of the few bakeries in town that I really like. This cake was super light with a melt in your mouth creamy vanilla filling. Thank you Punkin!
Along with the cake she bought these exquisite little desserts for us to enjoy. These are the kind of desserts that I keep saying I want to make. Guess they’ll be on my to do list this year also. I wish I had some of these right now to enjoy while I watch all of the Inaugural festivities today. It’s been a great day watching history unfold. Sending best wishes to the First Family and to our nation.

HAPPY BELATED BIRTHDAY, Sandy!! Glad you’re feeling better, and I hope you enjoyed your birthday and your cake!!
You deserved to enjoy your birthday even more after that awful flu my friend – hope you are feeling better!

Oh my, Happy Birthday to you Sandra. Sorry you had to be sick but with those treats it might have been worth it, LOL. That cupcake looks soo good. I hope you do make these and share with us. Have a wonderful day and I hope you feel better soon my friend.
Thank you Suzi. When I make these cupcakes they won’t last long. Chocolate cupcakes are Gabrielle’s favorite.
How sweet of your family! Lovely cake and hmmm that chocolate cupcake looks yum! Hope you feel better. I’m hoping to get rid of my cold real soon too. Not fun to be sick, at all!
Colds/flu are the pits! Having family that takes care of you and gives you treats is awesome!
–My heart stopped when I saw that stunning chocolate cupcake. WOW!
Gabbi devoured that chocolate cupcake in record time.
Oh, feel better soon! The flu this year is pervasive and we’ve lost the good fight around here, too. All those sweet treats look amazing. And, happy birthday!
You always say the nicest things Anita, thank you and keep fighting!
Belated birthday wishes! Maybe next year you can make some glow in the dark cupcakes. Or not
It is just an idea.
Thank you and I’ll keep that in mind.
