For a long time I felt like any recipe that involved using yeast just wasn’t for me. I know that I’m not alone in feeling “yeast challenged”. In the fall I took the plunge and decided to give it a try, again. The first recipe was so-so and I’ll get up the nerve to share it later.
The second one I hit out of the park!!! Granted there was a little something extra that gave it a boost, but nonetheless I nailed it.
In my blog hopping I found the recipe for Cake Mix Cinnamon Rolls at Love From the Oven. I think she found the recipe at Pioneer Woman. Doesn’t matter where this recipe came from it is too good to be true. As the name implies you start with a base of cake mix. That’s half the work right there. From there it’s a matter of adding the flour, yeast dissolved in water, vanilla and salt.
I mixed everything with a wooden spoon, now tell me how cool is that! Since I made no changes to the recipe I’m going to send you over to Christi’s blog for the recipe. While you’re there check out some more of her tempting treats and pinky promise me that you’ll try this recipe.

I’m yeast challenged too and this recipe is really interesting! I’m curious to try. Hopefully later this year when my 2nd child goes to school longer I can challenge bread making…but so scared if it doesn’t rise! >_<
I hear ya! It’s the waiting on the perfect rise that is challenging and nerve wracking.
Your cinnamon rolls really look delicious, Sandy!!
Thank you Ma’am!
Wow Sandra, very lovely and yummy looking! I think you’ve definitely conquered the “yeast beast”!
Onward and Upward Chris. Now it’s time to tackle some of your 5 minute breads.
Yea Sandra!!! You finally took the plunge
Your rolls look so moist and delicious – great job! I’m on my way over to check out the recipe – you have me craving cinnamon rolls now…
It was a great recipe to build my confidence on.
This is definitely a delicious achievement
Cheers

Thanks Uru, glad you’re back.
I am yeast challenged to the max! I have NEVER had any success with ANY yeast recipe. I know my husband would love for me to master yeast breads because his dear departed Mother was a whiz with a cake of yeast. I might try these on the sly and check his reaction. This could be a jumping off point for me!
C’mon Alycia treat your honey!
That looks absolutely amazing!!
It’s very tempting to make another batch, but it’s way too soon. Thanks for stopping by.
Now, that’s a setting for royalty. Those cinnabons look delish too. Yuummm…
These rolls are fantastic you should really try them.
Sandra,
I made these yesterday. They turned out FABulously! Thank you. Xx
OOOH yummy so happy they turned out well. Hopefully you showed more restraint than I did. These babies are irresistable!
