Christmas 2012 – The Cookie Bar

30 dozen was my original estimate of how many cookies we were going to make. Honestly, I think I stopped counting at that number. And once again I have vowed to not make as many next year, but I’m sure that will change on or about December 1, 2013. We ended up with nine different cookie flavors. Sugar, Garth Girl Oatmeal Chocolate Chip (with and without nuts), Oatmeal White Chocolate, Cherry Chip White Chocolate, Easy Pudding Cookies, Spritz, Coffee Crunch, Andes Mint Chippers, and Gingerbread. We also had a whole slew of Girl Scout Cookies also. There are still cookies in the refrigerator on the table and a few stashed in the freezer. My freezer so was full I had to store them in coolers in the garage.

My dessert menu was so full I decided to halfway dismantle my Green & Gold tablr in the dining room and turn it into a cookie bar. The dessert table holding the other desserts was downstairs. Way over the top, I know.

I’ve already posted the Coffee Spice Cookies and you can check them out here . I will lose my seat in the Mommy Hall of Fame if I divulge the Garth Girl Cookie recipe so that one is staying under wraps. Here and here are a couple of links to some of the other ones. By right this post should have been ready earlier so I could share all of the recipes with you. That being said I was covered in flour and powdered sugar so forgive me for not sharing all of them with you right now. I thought about posting a few while the kids were here, but I’m sure you understand why that wasn’t an option. Please enjoy the pictures and I’ll save the other desserts for the next post.

About Sandra

I am the proud owner of the largest sweet tooth in the world. This means that my other passion, fitness, serves me very well. As contradictory as this seems, I’m a certified fitness professional. It’s great to be able to show my clients how to have their cake and eat it too. Life is truly too short not to have dessert. As long as you have the best natural ingredients and enjoy them in moderation it’s OK. For the last twenty-five years I’ve been a cake decorator. Try as I might I can’t get it out of my blood, so I’ve decided to stop fighting it and go with the flow. Who say’s you can’t have it all?
