At long last the sun doth shine! I was beginning to think I wouldn’t have the chance to get my second holiday table set up. When it is overcast and cloudy here there is zero chance of getting any decent pictures in my kitchen and that’s where I set up the second table. My kitchen table is smaller than the one in the dining room so there’s not a lot of room for piling on the dinnerware. This smaller setting was a bit cozier but I also knew leaving it up for long wasn’t an option.
With a quick switch of the centerpiece and the napkin rings this table could easily go from Christmas to Valentine’s Day. That’s another reason why I like to load up on basic pieces. A few seasonal touches and you’re good to go. Don’t get me wrong if I find dinnerware that is strictly for a certain holiday and the price is right, it will be mine.
I began assembling my tablescape with a white cloth. Then added the centerpiece which was one of those after the holiday bargains that I got at Michaels a couple of years ago. During the holiday season it graces my coffee table in the living room.
Also from Michaels are the silver chargers. I have certainly gotten my money’s worth from them. The black plates and red bowls are part of our everyday collection and the white plates are part of an ever growing stash. I don’t think you can ever have too many white plates.
I used a white and a red napkin to achieve a fuller effect. That was needed because the napkin adornment is actually a clip on pick that I got from Family Dollar last year.
To coordinate with the silver chargers I set my table with silver toned flatware. Something else you can’t have too much of.
These glasses are some of my favorites and I will be looking for more of them when I’m out thrifting. They do not look like I paid fifty-cents each for them. Well at least not to me. Can you tell I love a bargain?
It’s about to get super busy around here. I haven’t started baking cakes and pies yet. Maybe if I stay out of the grocery store I can get started. The kids will be in this weekend so there are beds to be changed and lots of preparation for our annual feeding frenzy. Remember to sneak in a few minutes of quiet time for you to rejuvenate. I’ll be taking that message to heart also. Merry Christmas!
I’m sharing my table at these link parties:

And to think it came from Big Lots! Love that store.
My favorite table of all times Sandra. I’m a huge fan of red – that probably explains it. Have a great holiday!

Thank you very much for visiting and for the kind words. I hope your holiday has been beautiful.
I can’t believe you have such a pretty table in your kitchen, Sandra you are amazing. I love all your bargains, as usual!
I only wish I could have left it up a little longer. Sometimes I have to keep it a bit more practical in the kitchen.
Very nicely done! I love how you captured the sun so perfectly with your table setting too! I have to make a mad dash to capture the sun on my table in the kitchen. It’s a very short window of opportunity! Your centerpiece looks perfect! Love the poinsettias!
Have a Merry Christmas!
Liz
Thank you so much Liz. I know what you mean about that window of opportunity. It’s a very short one. Thank you so much for stopping by and I hope you had a wonderful holiday.
