Can you believe that Thanksgiving is about two weeks away? That doesn’t leave much time for decorating and I didn’t want to rush and put together a tablescape at the last minute. As a matter of fact I plan on doing two of them. Ambitious aren’t I? When I was checking through my bins I kept coming across so many fall/Thanksgiving items, and it’s pretty much the same with Christmas. No sense in letting it just sit there, and don’t even get me started about all the baking I’d like to do.
First things first, my Bountiful table. I’m calling it Bountiful because there’s lots of stuff on it and also because I have a bounty of blessings. Sure there are things I’d like to have and do, don’t we all? However, I have so much to be thankful for and I am truly grateful. It’s been a habit of mine for more years than I can remember to start and end my day expressing my gratitude. I also believe that attitude only serves to give you more to be grateful for. I got a little off point there so back to the table.
After holidays is a good time to find great bargains. Even though we’re still in the fall season I found this rust colored tablecloth at Big Lots last week for $6.00. There was no way I could let that go. Too bad they didn’t have any napkins to match. You may recognize the beige dinnerware from a few posts ago. It’s one of those basic colors that go with most everything.
My first inclination was to use my mom’s dishes but I decided to wait and use those for Thanksgiving, that’s the time they generally come out of the china cabinet. I used napkins almost the same shade as the dishes underneath them and then layered the plates on brown wooden-like charges with an acorn patter around the rim. The stack was then set them on top of some oversized gold chargers.
The gold toned flatware gave a bit of sparkle and brightness to the table. It also compliments the gold toned cordial glasses. The larger clear goblets are not the same shaped but both have a gold rim, it’s all good.
The pumpkin shaped tea light holders are also a score from Big Lots many years ago. As are the larger copper holder and the wheel barrow. I like the mini pumpkins and gourds in them better than candles.
Since I haven’t mastered the fine art of making centerpieces yet, I rely on candles and candleholders. This is one I’ve used many times also. It’s a thrift store find and has a wooden base. It goes with so many things and I will use it until it falls apart. At its base are lots of faux fruits, gourds and pumpkins.
Also on the table are leaf votive holders in fall colors. For some reason the whole table has an old-time colonial feel to it. I think it may be due to the dark tablecloth, or maybe it’s all the medication I’m taking to shake this sinus infection, LOL!
While I was decorating, I added a few holiday touches to the table in the foyer. I took the candles out of the hurricane holders and replaced them with fall foliage. On the table there’s also a bowl of potpourri that also received a little holiday uplift. Might as well use everything I have, right! Have a good one and I’ll be going through my bins again soon to come up with table number two.
I’m sharing my table at these link parties:
Wow us Wednesday’s
Tablescape Thursday’s
No Minimalmist Thursday

The table looks really nice. I can’t believe you do fitness and cakes. Appears to be a paradox
Sometimes it seems that way. I’m so lucky that I love to exercise and even luckier that it’s my job. That makes all the sweet stuff go down a bit easier.
Wow, Sandy!! This tablescape is breath-takingly gorgeous!! Pure magic!!
You say the nicest things Joyce, thank you.
I look at your beautiful tables and wonder, “where does she keep all this stuff?” I’m hopeless at finding enough room for the basics much less the seasonal decorating. That’s it.. I need a new wing on the house.
OMG how I’d love a whole wing with only my table decor. Nirvana!!!!
I love your thanksgiving set up my friend, so cheerful and delish
Cheers

Thank you and I hope you come back and take a gander at the second one.
Three words… Festive, Simple, and Elegant! You have the magic touch.
Have a great weekend. ~ Ramona
PS… I am with you… time is flying and I can’t believe Thanksgiving us fast approaching us.
And before you know it we’ll be posting Christmas cookies.
Gorgeous
Thank you so much.
Ooo, I wish I were coming to your house, dear.
I want to know your ENTIRE menu, please. Xx
I’m still making changes on the menu. It always comes down to traditional vs try something different for a change. Usually traditional wins out. I’ll be sure and share it with you.
I’m so awful about making a pretty table unless we’re having guests besides family! You’ve inspired me to do something a little more festive for Thanksgiving! Looking forward to table #2!
I’m looking forward to seeing your table and would love to share it over here if you don’t mind.
This year I won’t be here for Thanksgiving so no turkey and no feast (but different kinds of food). I always get excited to see your table setting. You’ve inspired me and others with creative ideas and I love that you are always working ahead (which I’m not good at!).
I know you’ll have a great holiday no matter what’s on the menu. Thanks for the kind words and have fun.
Such a happy table, with so many gorgeous colours!
Hi Sandra, its nice to meet you through Maureen! =D
Love your table deco and the colors, fitting to the season. We don’t celebrate thanksgiving the way you guys do, so I like to watch and learn what this festival is all about. Its a nice tradition. =) Thanks for the table deco ideas, I hope I ll be able to implement some for Christmas.
It’s a pleasure to meet you Helene and I’m so happy you found me. Thank you for stopping by and I hope you come back again. And isn’t Maureen a sweetheart?
