My good friend Tiffany at Como Water tagged me in the 7 links challenge, she’s such a sweetie pie! Initially I thought I had the 7 links worked out. Then the more I thought about it the more unsure I became. Working backwards through my posts was a pleasant and sometimes scary trip down memory lane. I came across some posts that’d slipped my mind and some that should have stayed in the deep recesses of my mind. Some of those pictures were a hot steamy mess!! Thankfully I’ve grown as a blogger and a baker since August 2010 when my Sweet Sensations journey began. Now let’s take a trip backwards through space and time.
1. Most Beautiful Oreo Cream Cheese Pound Cake Cupcakes
This was from my Summer Soiree series that seemed to go on forever. I felt like the stars and moon aligned perfectly for this one. Presenting these cupcakes in a punch cup really did it for me. It was pretty well received also. Thanks friends.
2. Most Popular Mini Cream Cheese Cakes
I deem this one the most popular because I received the most comments on it. It was the first time I used my cute little flour mold pan and I also used some of my mom’s dainty dishes. You may have noticed that I have a thing for cream cheese pound cake.
3. Most Controversial Decadent White Chocolate Desserts
This is as close as I could come to a controversial post. Believe it or not this was my first Top 9 entry. I’d only been on Foodbuzz for a couple of months and I was floored to have made it. I was also green as grass in regards to Foodbuzz. I didn’t feel justified making it into Top 9 because this wasn’t my picture. This was a picture that I thought went nicely with the post. Green girl here even sent an email to the editorial team questioning my entry and apologizing for my lack of blogging etiquette. Somehow I felt that the food blogging police were going to come and confiscate my laptop and cake supplies. One commenter said, “ I thought this was going to be a recipe. LOL”. That did it, I hung my head in shame and vowed that I would replicate that cake and vindicate myself. Luckily I moved on and learned a valuable lesson in the process.
4. Most Helpful Classic Yellow Cake and CNN Pt1
After searching for some tips and hints I may have shared with you, I see where I lacking in that department. I promise to do better in the future. However, reliving my CNN lifestyle makeover experience allowed me to share a very trying and triumphful period in my life that changed me immensely. I do hope it gave you a glimpse of who I am.
5. Post Whose Success Surprised Me
In no way were these tasty morsels my best recipe or best pictures. I didn’t expect them to attract the attention they did.
6. Post That Didn’t Get the Attention it Deserved
Lavender Cordial Pound Cake
I was and still am thrilled with this cake. Mother Nature cooperated and gave me what I thought was the perfect lighting for pictures. In addition the recipe was unique. Shows how much I know huh!
7. Post I Am Most Proud Of
Sweet Potato Fries
To me this is my first legitimate Top 9 and the last post I would’ve expected to make it. I was on my way to the airport when I checked my email and saw a congratulations message from Kate @Diethood. That day was the start of a perfect vacation!
Have at it Ladies!
