Once upon a time I declared anything DIY or crafty not my cup of tea. I exclaimed, “If I can bake it, frost it, fry it, or workout with it it’s not for me”. Ha, my how the times have changed. I enjoy making my own cake stands like the one pictured above for my baby bundts. My hoarder’s bins are filled with more ribbons, glue, various paints and even some lightweight tools. Yikes, what’s happening I’ve caught the DIY bug! I spend as much time in the craft stores as I do the grocery store. Whoever thought I would check out a book from the library on Modge Podge crafts. As the saying goes, I get it from my mama!
I have no doubt that somewhere in heaven there is a crafting corner and my mother is in that group sewing and having fun with ceramics. She loved to craft, lay carpet, upholster chairs and she did it well. I’ve often heard that sooner or later daughters become like their mothers. Well look at me now doing my DIY thing. Then there are my daughters; baking up a storm, refurbishing furniture and throwing amazing parties. Like mother like daughter!
